GVA Worldwide presents international urban masterplan for Kotka Old Port, Finland

GVA Worldwide`s Russian affiliate GVA Sawyer, presented a new international urban masterplan as partner and developer of a mixed-use project on the former port in Kotka, Finland.

Alongside an international group of investors, GVA Sawyer will start construction of a mixed-use project, which includes an outlet centre, two hotels (3 and 4 star), a sea front pedestrian zone with restaurants and bars, a cinema, offices and conference facilities, 130-berth marina and the opening of cruise and ferry routes for tourists from St. Petersburg to Kotka. The Designer Outlet Mall will become the anchor of the complex with a total of 47,000 sq m. Phase one to be constructed by the end of 2016 will have GBA of 19,450 sq m.

Kotka Old Port is situated on the north-east of the Scandinavian Peninsula, within 60 km of or 40 minutes from the Russian border, 130 km from the centre of Helsinki and six km from E18 motorway, the main road in Scandinavia connecting the northern capitals, Oslo, Stockholm and Helsinki. The new development is located in a highly desirable location and will attract an international audience from Finland, Russia, Norway and Sweden.
